The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) under Spotlight Initiative Programme with funding from European Union (EU) has donated a desktop computer to Dowa Police Victim Support Unit.
Speaking during the handover of the desktop computer, Gender Based Violence services officer for United Nations Population Funds (UNFPA) under Spotlight Initiative in Dowa, Fadress Nyirenda, said the donation is aimed at assisting the police victim support unit in documentation of all sexual gender based violence (SGBV) cases at the station.
She further said the goal is to ensure that women and girls who experience violence use acceptable and quality essential services.
In his remarks, Dowa Police Station Officer, Senior Superintendent Frankie Kayange said the donation will help the officers in capturing all cases related to sexual gender based violence and keeping the proper records.
